It does what it's supposed to. I'm happy. I would be a little happier if the price wasn't %10000 markup. But, compared to the Gary Fong, I feel a little better. Next time I'll make my own.
It holds snugly to the top of my SB-600, an slides on easily. I'm not the type of photographer to blast the flash directly from my camera into someone's face, but I tried it with my strobe on top of my camera, and the result wasn't bad. I primarily use this when I can't lug around an umbrella. It offers a little diffusion, and sometimes that's all I need.

I've used this diffuser only a few times (I try to go without the flash) and it works great. I've notice quite the difference in the quality of my photos, which is always great. I haven't had any of the fitting issue's that I've read about with my SB-600. For the small price, it's well worth it.

This is a lot easier than trying to "rig" your flash with plastic and rubber bands or in my case saran wrap. This diffuser fits my SB600 perfectly. I leave it on all the time and never take it off. For the price I could not pass it up.

I've used bounce cards, and soft boxes, and while those are great for their intended uses, they aren't as useful in nearly every situation you would use a flash. That's where a diffuser is ideal.
As a diffuser, this is great. The fit is too tight though, and basically squeezes itself to the tip of the flash, where it can easily fall off. I've found a bit of electrical tape or even gaffer's tape will hold the diffuser in place (any photographer, amateur or pro, should have a roll in their camera bag. Very useful in many situations), so I'll still give this 4 stars because it is such a great multi-purpose diffuser.

I first saw this product at work at a wedding being used by a professional photographer using a D300 and the exact same same flash unit I own (SB600). I use a D90 and I felt the only real difference between her shots and mine was the superior softness of the lighting in her shots. Even with bouncing the light and using the built in diffuser, her shots had softer lighting and therefore were more professional looking. This cheap add on works much better than the one built into the SB600 flash unit. It's easy to install and still fits into the factory pouch. What else do you need to hear? Its Cheap and works well.
